For the second straight month, the Lakewood BlueClaws have taken the Player of the Month Award in the South Atlantic League. Pitcher Nick Fanti won the honor for the month of May, and first baseman Darick Hall was named the recipient for the month of June.

The Phillies drafted Hall in the 14th round of last year’s draft out of Dallas Baptist. This June with Lakewood, Hall hit .306 with eight home runs and 27 RBI and crushed an OPS of 1.042 in 26 games last month. Hall’s eight home runs and 27 RBI were both tops in the league and his season total of 62 RBI leads the SAL, while he’s second in home runs with 15 on the season. His OPS was the second highest in the SAL in June, second to Estevan Florial (1.094) of the Charleston River Dogs.

Last season, Hall slashed 9-29-.285/.375/.523 with Williamsport.
