HOW HE BECAME A PHILLIE: Acquired in a trade with Boston for second base prospect Josh Tobias on December 20, 2016. 

2017 NOTES: Placed on the 10-day DL after surgery to repair a partial flexor tendon tear in his right arm on April 18… Moved to the 60-day DL on April 21.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Signed a four-year, $29.945-million contract, with two club option years, in April 2011. Both options were picked up and the contract expires following the 2017 season, making him a free agent… Named an American League All-Star in 2010 and 2013… Finished sixth in Cy Young voting in 2010… Made his MLB debut and was the winning pitcher, August 17, 2007 vs the Los Angeles Angels (6 IP, 8 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 3 ER)… Drafted by Boston with the 42nd overall pick (first round) of the 2005 Draft.
