Welcome To The New Philly Baseball Insider

In all honesty, it’s probably even more surprising to me that you’re seeing this, than it is to you. I had no intention of changing Philly Baseball Insider, and was quite happy with where the site was at and how things were going.

$#!T Happens!

This site used to be a part of the Scout.com network of sites. Late last year, a soap opera began that included a narcissistic owner with a lavish lifestyle and big dreams, making even bigger promises. Then, came the site editors, who believed it – yes, I drank the Kool-Aid – and got suckered into all of the promises. To make a long story short, the story goes on to include missed payments from the aforementioned owner, Russians (yes, honestly, Russians) and eventually bankruptcy court.

Eventually, the whole network was sold to CBS Interactive and everything seemed like it was going to be just wonderful good! Payments weren’t missed and things were running smoothly with a big corporate sports giant having our back.

$#!T Happens… Again!

Things moved in a “different direction” and Philly Baseball Insider was about to be put into a very bad position that would have quite honestly, made the site not worth the time that was being placed into it. I literally woke up on the morning of May 1, 2017 to a cautionary, “you didn’t hear this from me, but…” warning from another member of the network.

After a long walk with the dog to clear my head and figure out what the next move should be for both me and Philly Baseball Insider, here I am typing a post about Russians and how things changed. Odds are that you’re not seeing this version of the site on May 1, 2017, the day that it was “reborn,” because it won’t really be ready for your viewing pleasure for about a month or so.

So, the moral of the story is: 1) We’re here and not going away! 2) Russians can really screw things up! and 3) $#!T Happens.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the revamped version of Philly Baseball Insider, send us any thoughts, comments and suggestions that you have for the site, and won’t be too harsh while we work out all sorts of bugs and kinks. After all, they tell me the internet is the place to work out kinks!
