Five ‘Cutters Named to NYPL All-Star Game

The New York-Penn League has released the rosters for 2017 All-Star Game, which will be hosted by the Tri-City ValleyCats on Tuesday, August 15th at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy, N.Y.

Williamsport Crosscutters picked for the Team South roster include, first baseman Greg Pickett, outfielder Jhailyn Ortiz, left-hander Kyle Young, and right-handers Randy Alcantara and Luis Ramirez.

The rosters consist of two players at every infield position, two catchers, six outfielders and 10 pitchers. The Aberdeen IronBirds lead Team South with seven players, while the Hudson Valley Renegades and Vermont Lake Monsters lead Team North with six players each.  In 2015, the Williamsport Crosscutters placed a record eight players on Team North. 

the South Team will be represented by players from Aberdeen, Brooklyn, Mahoning Valley, State College, Staten Island, West Virginia and Williamsport. The North Team will be comprised of players from Auburn, Batavia, Connecticut, Hudson Valley, Lowell, Tri-City, and Vermont.
